The case and crew of Bill & Ted face The Music are now one month into filming the third installment of the popular franchise in New Orleans.

And the movie's leading man Keanue Reeves looked almost unrecognizable when he stepped out of his trailer decked out in a full beard and mohawk hairdo on Friday.

The actor, 54, got into his character Ted Theodore Logan as he revealed his entire stomach while he sported a tight Under Amour shirt while he headed out to shoot scenes.

Keanu looked worlds away from his clean-cut red carpet looks as he rocked a dishevelled look for his character; he completed his transformation with dark denim blue jeans and patterned sneakers.

Between takes, the Canadian star carried a towel which he used to keep cool in the sweltering temperatures beating down on the actors in New Orleans.

In this latest adventure, Bill and Ted endure the monotony of middle-aged life as they come to grips with the realization that they didn't change the world with the music of their band the Wyld Stallyns.

Eventually they receive a warning by a visitor from the future of the need for them to create a song that will save all life and the universe.

The dynamic-duo then go on to work with their families, old friends, and a slew of incredibly famous musicians to complete the task at hand.

It has been nearly 30 years since the Bill & Ted franchise last hit theatres with Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey in 1991; the hotly-anticipated film comes after nearly a decade of false starts in development.

Fans will recall Bill and Ted were barely proficient with their instruments in the hit original film Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989).

But the sequel Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey (1991) paves the way to explain how the pair cemented themselves as legends going down in musical history.

Fans will have to wait and see where they stand now all these years later. Bill & Ted Face The Music is expected to hit theaters August 21, 2020.
