Look, we may not know a whole heck of a lot about The Weeknd, real name Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, but we had a feeling that he'd be the kind of man that was too mature to stoop to the level of name-calling.
So when his new bae, Selena Gomez's ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber threw ~major~ shade at the 'Starboy' singer in public, we just knew that he'd LOL the whole thing off.
And that's exactly what's gone down!
To recap: Last Friday night, TMZ asked Justin if he's able to listen to The Weeknd's music. Justin replied by saying, "Hell no, that sh-t's whack!"
Ooooooooouch!
But apparently Justin's shade throwing attempt was completely wasted on Abelena as the pair gave a grand total of zero f-cks!
"Selena loves the fact that her ex is jealous," a source told HollywoodLife.com. "She knows Justin doesn't really think The Weeknd's music is whack. Plus, The Weeknd is too mature to blink an eye at Justin's diss or anything else derogatory he has to say."
See, we KNEW that Justin was a fan of the 26-year-old R&B singer.
When the pair met at the AMA's, the "Sorry" singer appeared to be enthralled by his older muso colleague.
So it looks like his comment was purely made out of jealousy!
"Selena is well aware that Justin wants what he doesn't have," the insider continues. "As far as she is concerned, he's missed the bus one too many times and she's only got eyes for The Weeknd."
Come on Justin, no one likes a jealous ex!
