The Latin Queen is back, and I cannot help but smile! Jennifer Lopez has finally released her new lead single from her upcoming album... just don't know if it's going to be a greatest hit collection or her eighth, full-length studio record. Let me just say already, I love it and can't stop dancing.
"Dance Again" has the sexiest woman in the world teaming up with her partner in crime, Pitbull, once again to create the ultimate dancefloor smash. Can anybody say "On The Floor" Part 2? Because I can. With Lopez' current job as a judge/mentor on American Idol, plans to promote the hell out of this hit single are well underway with television premieres of both the song and its upcoming music video.
While the snippet I heard a few days ago scared me, the final, full version does not disappoint whatsoever. Some of the lyrical moments may seem bland, and the chorus does not try too hard, but it does not need to. Lopez and RedOne, producer of the hot track, combine forces to give the club enthusiasts something to crave and want more of.
Lopez is just admiting that she wants to "dance/and love/and dance again" and I wish I could do that right by her side. The song makes me smile for some reason, it is so carefree and fun. There is a sense of innocence and Lopez is beyond cute, proving why she has been in the business as long as she has. She is fierce and no one is going to take her crown.
Pitbull, who seems to be on every dance track that has been released in the past two years, gives another convincing performance on two verses during the song and I must say I would consider them to be some of his best featured spots. He proclaims that he is Mr. Worldwide and I cannot argue with that. Something about his collaborations with hot female artists is okay in my book.
It is good to hear Lopez back on the music scene where she belongs, especially on the dancefloor, but I am kind of sad that the release of "Dance Again" officially marks the closing of the
Love? era and I am just not ready to let go of "Papi", "Hypnotico" and "On the Floor" just yet.
So what do you think of "Dance Again"? Do the dynamic duo have another worldwide smash on their hands? I think so. The track gets a solid A from me and has already been played 50 times since its release this morning. Be sure to pick it up when it hits iTunes April 2. Enjoy the dance queen's new single and make your way to the nearest club. It's the weekend afterall, have fun!
